The Qlik Sense User Portal (QUP) is an online portal where users are managed on behalf of a Qlik Sense Enterprise environment. It is basically a web-based self-service portal for easy addition and management Qlik Sense users.

Features

• 1. Management of access credentials: users can easily be added and managed (username, password and other fields). There is also a password forgotten feature for end users. As a result, users will be able to reset their password self-service and no additional help desk is required for this common issue. User management using this application makes it unnecessary to track and manage users at Windows User level. With this app, (rdp) access to the physical server will be a thing of the past, as full management can be done web-based.
• 2. Secure access is possible through MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) through a Google or Microsoft Autenticator App. Direct integration with Microsoft AD (including Office 365) is also possible.
• 3. License management: users can Qlik access licenses are granted and managed. We know 2 types of licenses: the Analyzer (View) and Professional (View & Develop).
• 4. Field management: Users can add and manage both standard and dynamic fields. These fields can be useful for various front-end and back-end applications. This includes things such as function reduction (parts visible / not visible in dashboard) within apps or dynamically determining upper and lower limits of KPIs in apps.
• 5. Stream management: streams are authorization levels that users can access and in which 1 or more apps have been published. 1 or more streams can be linked from the user management.
• 6. Management of apps: apps are the final dashboards that can be linked to a user by means of a stream.
• 7. Task management: tasks include the refresh schedules of the apps.

Technique

De Qlik Sense User Portal (QUP) was developed by Victa and is fully integrated (API) with Qlik Sense Enterprise. A number of relevant screens come directly from the QMC (Qlik Management Console) and can be called centrally from the QUP. The QUP is a .NET application that basically runs on any database. By default we choose the QSR database (PostgreSQL) which is installed by default with a Qlik Sense Enterprise installation.

The installation of the QUP can be performed fine on the same (Windows) server as the Qlik Sense application. The QUP does not work on one QlikView environment.

Product price for Qlik User Portal basic module:
€ 3.588,00 per server / per year

For the implementation of the Qlik Sense User Portal (QUP) we charge standard € 1.000,00. After this, a customer (or customer of a customer if desired) can create and manage fully self-service users.
